Indulgence in Breisgau. Nestled in-between the Black Forrest and the Rhinetal it’s home to many a Michelin Star chef and renowned wine maker. Both traditionalists and young pretenders strive to reach perfection in detail, honesty and taste; qualities which are shared by the Freiburger label Foul & Sunk.
The highly anticipated vinyl release in september brings together material from 6 new producers; Borrowed Identity & The Mechanical Soulbrother, Liquid Phonk and Frederick Block and Eiskaltes Haendchen. They all share one thing, their heritage: the region of Breisgau.
With his modern, inspired by Detroit & New Jersey style house vibes, this talented young french DJ/Producer is fast becoming a hot name on the house scene…
“This EP is heavily inspired by my time spent in Seoul, South Korea, and especially these amazing minutes, when at night, you cross the Han River – by the Hannam Bridge – feeling how wide & impressive the river & the whole city are… and suddenly you would like to stop the time and to have this Nightride to last endlessly…” Fulbert
Fulbert isn’t falling into a category of producers that are writing music because it’s on trend, he’s all about a deep rooted, heartfelt love of house.
Released: 01-08-2013 on 12″ vinyl (discogs link)
Ney Faustini completes the half-dozen on Foul & Sunk, celebrating the dawn of the dark season with an EP whose three pieces will provide relaxation, energy and joy on the dance floors.
Born and raised in the Brazilian metropolis of Sao Paolo, Faustini begins his biography with fast music and broken beats, before his path led him to deep, bouncing house music. Maybe it’s the British bass music, maybe it’s the endless view over his city to the Atlantic Ocean that he used as a source of inspiration for this loosely woven, barely tangible tapestry of sound, that lines the background of his three pieces “Sleepless”, “The Name Of The Game “and” No More Chances”.
This giving the EP its meditative character, Faustini reinforces it all with prancing percussion on “No More Chances”, as well as warm piano and organ keys in the background of “The Name of the Game”. But the “Sleepless EP” doesn’t limit itself to head dance music: an organic bass groove flows through all three pieces, stimulating our energy cycle with pulsating pressure. This comes to its full potential in the eponymous title track, and is truly the motto of Foul & Sunk: Quality music for your dancefloor.
